Performance Contracting Inc. received a Platinum Safety Excellence Award from the National Insulation Association (NIA), which honors companies demonstrating strong safety systems and workforce protection practices. The recognition was announced during NIA’s annual convention, where contractors across the insulation industry were evaluated by a panel of industry experts.
The award program assesses contractor safety performance based on documented program structure, implementation practices and demonstrated commitment to worker well-being across job sites. PCI was recognized in the contractors category as a top-tier recipient.
Company leadership emphasized that safety remains a core operational priority, particularly in specialized construction environments where insulation work involves industrial, commercial and mission-critical facilities. These include mechanical insulation systems, cleanroom construction and advanced building envelope applications.
PCI’s recognition also reflects its longstanding relationship with the insulation industry’s trade association. The company has maintained membership in the National Insulation Association for more than six decades, aligning its operations with evolving industry standards and certifications used in insulation installation and industrial safety compliance.
Specialty contractors operating in insulation, interiors and technical building systems often face elevated risk environments due to confined spaces, high-temperature systems and industrial site conditions. Industry-wide, safety programs have increasingly shifted toward formalized training systems, standardized procedures and continuous compliance monitoring to reduce incidents and improve workforce outcomes.
The NIA represents nearly 300 member companies in the commercial and industrial insulation sector, supporting industry standards, training initiatives and technical resources for contractors and end users.
As industrial and infrastructure projects grow in complexity, safety recognition programs like NIA’s have become a benchmark for contractor qualification and risk management performance. Owners and general contractors are placing greater emphasis on documented safety culture when selecting subcontractors for high-risk scopes of work.
