Construction employers continue to expand internship opportunities as they work to strengthen the future talent pipeline. Plant Construction has opened applications for its 2027 Summer Construction Internship Program, offering students practical experience across multiple areas of commercial construction.
The summer program places interns on active construction projects where they can gain experience supporting project delivery and day-to-day operations.
Participants will work alongside construction professionals while developing knowledge in project management, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, field operations, office administration, construction technology, building materials, and applicable building codes and regulations.
The internship is intended to provide students with practical exposure to the processes involved in delivering commercial construction projects.
According to Plant Construction, the internship is structured to help participants build skills relevant to several entry-level positions within the company.
Career paths supported through the program include Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer and Concrete Project Engineer roles, giving interns insight into both office-based and field-based responsibilities.
The company is also continuing recruitment for additional employment opportunities through its broader careers program.
Internship programs remain an important workforce development strategy for the construction industry as contractors seek to attract and retain future project managers, engineers and field leaders. By providing hands-on experience and exposure to project delivery, these programs help students transition from academic study to professional construction careers while supporting the industry's long-term workforce needs.
