The crash occurred around midnight at the Center Station Garage on Amity Road, a municipal facility used by the town for public works and other operational needs. Authorities say the driver struck the building and then left the scene without reporting the incident.
Investigators are looking for a 2025 Ford F-250 or F-350 pickup truck that likely sustained heavy front-end damage as a result of the collision. According to a post on the Town of Bethany’s official Facebook page, the truck “heavily damaged” the garage during the overnight crash.

Photos shared by the town show visible damage to the structure, including impact marks and debris near the building, raising concerns about the safety of public infrastructure and the potential cost of repairs. Town officials have not yet released an estimate of the financial damage or said whether operations at the facility were disrupted.
State police have not confirmed whether anyone was inside the garage at the time of the crash or if the driver or any passengers were injured. Officials also have not said whether nearby security cameras, traffic cameras or private surveillance systems captured footage of the incident.
As of Monday, state police had not responded to requests for additional details about the investigation. The incident remains under active review as authorities attempt to identify the vehicle and determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, noticed a damaged pickup matching the description, or has other relevant information to contact State Police Troop I in Bethany at 203-393-4200.
