Highlights

  • Power Design hosted its Battle of the Builders event at TGL in South Florida.
  • Participating construction partners included John Moriarty and Associates, Moss, Juneau Construction, Coastal Construction and PMG.
  • The event combined team competition with relationship-building among long-standing project partners.
  • Power Design's team finished first in the competition.
  • The event reflects Power Design's broader focus on maintaining relationships with construction partners beyond individual projects.

Construction partnerships often extend beyond individual contracts, with coordination and trust developed over repeated projects. Power Design recently brought several long-standing general contractor partners together in South Florida for Battle of the Builders, a team competition designed to strengthen those working relationships outside the jobsite.

General Contractors Join South Florida Event

The event brought together representatives from John Moriarty and Associates, Moss, Juneau Construction, Coastal Construction and PMG. Power Design has worked with the participating general contractors across multiple construction projects.

Held at TGL in South Florida, the gathering provided an informal setting for the organizations to interact away from project schedules, procurement activities and daily field operations.

Power Design's team ultimately finished first in the competition. The event's primary focus, however, was on bringing project partners together and reinforcing relationships developed through previous construction work.

Building Relationships Beyond the Jobsite

Power Design's multi-trade construction operations span electrical, mechanical, plumbing, systems technologies, energy and other building services. Its relationships with general contractors are therefore tied to coordination across multiple project disciplines.

The event represents a relationship-building approach that complements the technical and contractual coordination required during construction. Similar partner-focused activities have previously included Power Design's Battle at Baja golf event, which also brought construction partners together through a competitive format.

For construction owners and general contractors, maintaining effective relationships among trade contractors and project teams can support collaboration across successive projects. Power Design's latest event provided a setting for those established partnerships to continue outside active jobsites.
