Reno-based Morgan Construction, one of Northern Nevada’s largest concrete sawing, core drilling, removal, repair, and installation contractors, has been acquired by Precizion Partners, a Roseville-based construction services firm.
Jeremy Ellison, who started working at his stepfather Jay Morgan’s concrete and asphalt cutting business in 1999 and became president of Morgan Construction in 2022, said the acquisition was unexpected but promising.
“I wasn’t looking for my company to be acquired, but when I met Joel Leineke, president and chief executive officer of Precizion Partners, for a cup of coffee at Boomtown, I quickly realized how much I could grow Morgan Construction with the backing of a larger company,” Ellison told NNBW.

“Knowledge is power, and it would be a missed opportunity if I did not sit down with Joel and see what he had to offer,” he added.
Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, Morgan Construction will continue operating under its own name as it integrates with Precizion.
“We are a very family-oriented business, and it’s a small industry in the construction world here (in Reno),” Ellison said. “It was a big deal for me that I get to keep my team and continue to run our business – we are a successful company. With Precizion, we have a lot more backing, and that opens the door to some new opportunities and larger projects. It’s a good thing for Morgan Construction and for Northern Nevada.”
Leineke, who joined Precizion Partners in June 2022, emphasized the strategic value of the acquisition.
“The value is in the growth,” he said. “Morgan Construction has a great service business. We thought if we could bring them into the fold, we could expand what we are already doing by adding a great team in a new location to expand our geography, and we have got four or five additional services we can slowly layer on and introduce to customers and find new customers. That is the real opportunity.”
Morgan Construction’s growth over the years was fueled by its expansion into structural and flatwork concrete services. Ellison said this full-service approach appealed to general contractors.
“That really opened the door for us,” Ellison explained. “A general contractor doesn’t have to find multiple subs; we can handle the concrete from start to finish, from full building foundations to curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. We can cut it, remove it, dig it, backfill and pour it back. The GCs drool over that because it is one less subcontractor they have to worry about.”

As part of Precizion Partners, Morgan Construction will gain access to advanced operational tools, including a full-service enterprise resource planning system and FieldFlo software for scheduling, project management, and safety compliance.
“Safety is a huge focus of our organization, and we are proud to have a great safety record,” Leineke said. “Now that we are a multi-state organization, the software helps with vehicle inspections and DOT compliance. These are the tools that allow contractors to move into the modern world. Construction is the slowest industry to adopt technology, and small contractors are the last ones to get any benefits. It gives Jeremy the tools to build the business he’s always wanted.”
Ellison said the acquisition simplifies operations, letting him focus on strategic growth rather than day-to-day workflow challenges.
“At the end of the day, buck stops with me, and it had gotten to the point where I needed to focus on growing the business rather than on safety and field flow operations,” he said. “Delegating just overloads the people in the office. It's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, and it will improve everything for the business and for our customers.”
Leineke noted that while Morgan Construction may eventually integrate more fully under the Precizion brand, its well-known name will continue to operate in Northern Nevada.
“Morgan Construction is a strong brand, and using a brand that’s well known makes a lot of sense,” he said. “We will eventually layer on the Precizion brand, and when we bring in our other divisions, such as Precizion Recycling and Disposal, we will operate as that. But we will leverage the Morgan brand and will not move away from that anytime soon.”
With the acquisition, Precizion Partners not only expands its geographic footprint and service offerings but also strengthens technical and operational capabilities, promising a new era of growth for Northern Nevada’s concrete construction industry.
