Project Scope and Progress

Working alongside full-service architecture firm AO, the construction team has made substantial progress on the seven-story hotel development. To date, the project has required approximately 1.5 million pounds of rebar and 4,310 cubic yards of concrete, with crews logging around 80,000 construction hours.

The Element Mission Valley is being constructed on the former tennis courts of the adjacent Marriott Mission Valley hotel, maximizing the use of the existing property footprint while creating a distinct new facility.

Hotel Features and Amenities

Upon completion, the Element Mission Valley will offer 150 guest rooms with panoramic views of the surrounding San Diego area. The property will feature its own entrance, lobby, lounge, and amenities while sharing pool facilities and restaurants with the neighboring Marriott Mission Valley.

The hotel will also include a 5,300-square-foot conference and ballroom space, positioning it to serve both the business meeting and special event markets in the Mission Valley area.

Sustainability and Timeline

The project is designed to comply with Title 24 energy and water use criteria, achieving standards equivalent to LEED-Silver certification. This commitment to sustainability aligns with current industry trends toward environmentally responsible construction practices.

R.D. Olson Construction expects to complete the Element Mission Valley project by this upcoming winter, adding another quality hospitality option to San Diego's growing accommodation portfolio.
