West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez is in the process of assembling his coaching staff for his second tenure with the football program.

Rodriguez joined MetroNews' Talkline and discussed the timeline for constructing his coaching staff in Morgantown.

“I’m busy hiring a staff. I’m hoping after these next few days of bowl games that I’ll be able to announce a lot of the staff members,” he shared.

Rodriguez emphasized that the goal is to finalize staff appointments before Christmas. While he expects some staff members to be announced soon, he acknowledged that a few positions won’t be filled until after the New Year. Nonetheless, he expressed confidence in the process.

“It’s an easy place to recruit players to. It’s an easy place to recruit staff to so we’ll have a great one,” he stated.

When asked about former staff members who have worked with Rodriguez, such as Jeff Casteel or Rick Trickett, he refrained from providing specific details, citing their ongoing bowl games.

Rodriguez did, however, reveal plans for a special announcement of the coaching staff once all selections are finalized.

“Going to be proud of the staff. We have to release one guy at a time and a couple hours later release another guy,” Rodriguez said.
