RWE has officially energized the Stoneridge Solar project in Milam County, a major addition to Texas’ rapidly growing clean-energy portfolio. The newly commissioned development delivers 200 MW of solar power and 100 MW (200 MWh) of battery storage, bringing more American-generated electricity onto the Texas grid at a time when demand continues to surge.

Andrew Flanagan, CEO of RWE Clean Energy, emphasized the strength of local collaboration and the broader national benefits tied to investments like Stoneridge. "Stoneridge Solar is a great example of the power of local partnership and the positive role energy projects play in economic stimulation. We are helping Texas and the nation secure their energy future with scalable, homegrown energy while also delivering meaningful benefits to communities across America's heartland."
The Stoneridge project delivered more than 200 construction jobs, in addition to long-term operational roles that support the region’s workforce. Local governments and schools will also benefit, with the project generating millions in tax revenue for Milam County and the Thorndale Independent School District.

The investment is already visible: funding upgrades at Thorndale Elementary School, providing support for the volunteer fire department, and strengthening emergency response and education programs. Thorndale Elementary Principal Shannon Morrison highlighted the project’s impact, saying, "RWE's kindness and support are making a big difference for our students, and we appreciate you more than words can say."
RWE framed Stoneridge Solar as part of a broader push toward American energy dominance. With more than 11 gigawatts of renewable capacity now operating across the U.S., the company continues to scale solar, wind, and battery assets to serve homes and businesses with reliable, affordable power.
The new project underscores RWE’s commitment to domestic manufacturing, job creation, and long-term investment in rural and small-town communities. Through RWE Clean Energy, the company is now one of the top three renewable energy providers in the country.
According to the company, its growing footprint — supported by energy trading operations and its role as a major offtaker of U.S. LNG — positions RWE at the center of America’s evolving energy landscape.
