SAHARA Las Vegas and Martin-Harris Construction are teaming up to help more women across Nevada step into leadership roles through the inaugural “Business of Her” conference, taking place Saturday, Nov. 15, at SAHARA Las Vegas.
The collaboration—part of SAHARA’s community-focused SAHARA Cares initiative—aims to remove financial barriers that often prevent women from attending career development events.
As part of the partnership, Martin-Harris Construction will fund the “Building HER Future in Nevada” grant, which covers conference tickets and travel expenses for female students from both the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). The grant is specifically designed to boost mentorship, confidence, and career advancement among young women entering professional industries — including construction.
SAHARA Las Vegas will also contribute over $4,000 in complimentary hotel accommodations for students and female leaders traveling from Martin-Harris Construction’s Northern Nevada office.
Presented by Alexis Meruelo, chief vision and purpose officer for SAHARA Las Vegas, Business of Her is a one-day leadership and empowerment conference packed with workshops, networking opportunities, and a $10,000 small business grant competition hosted in partnership with Aristocrat Gaming.
The event will feature a high-profile lineup of speakers, including:
“Through the SAHARA Cares program and the generosity of Martin-Harris Construction, we’re proud to remove financial barriers and create opportunities for college students and female professionals to connect, learn and grow,” said Meruelo.
“Martin-Harris has always believed in building more than projects; we build people, opportunities and the future of our communities. The Building HER Future in Nevada Grant reflects our commitment to empowering women and ensuring the next generation of leaders has the confidence, connections and support to thrive,” added Guy Martin, president of Martin-Harris Construction.
Tickets to Business of Her are priced at $350, and attendees can turn the conference into a full Las Vegas retreat with exclusive room packages, discounted dining at Balla Italian Soul, special pricing for “MAGIC MIKE LIVE,” and more.
