Participation in industry organizations continues to play an important role as owners and contractors seek more collaborative approaches to delivering complex water infrastructure. Shimmick has joined the Water Collaborative Delivery Association (WCDA), expanding its involvement in initiatives focused on collaborative project delivery across the water sector.
The Water Collaborative Delivery Association promotes the use of collaborative delivery methods for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Through its membership, Shimmick will participate in industry discussions, exchange best practices, and contribute to efforts that improve project delivery across the sector.
The move aligns with the company's ongoing work in water infrastructure and integrated project delivery strategies for complex construction programs.
Shimmick will be represented within the association by President and CEO Ural Yal, Vice President of Preconstruction for Water and Industrials Greg Smith, and Project Director Josh Pfingst.
The representatives will participate in association activities focused on advancing collaborative delivery practices and supporting knowledge sharing among public agencies, contractors, designers, and other industry stakeholders.
As water infrastructure projects continue to increase in complexity, collaborative delivery methods are gaining wider adoption to improve coordination, manage project risks, and enhance stakeholder communication. Active participation in industry associations allows contractors to stay informed on evolving delivery practices while contributing to standards and best practices that can benefit owners and project teams.
