Skanska Elevates Three Texas Leaders to Project Executive

Skanska USA Building, a leading global construction and development firm, has strengthened its Texas leadership team with the promotion of three experienced professionals to Project Executive roles. Blake Beran, Tom Hull, and Ben Johnson will now oversee major projects across the state, reinforcing Skanska’s position in healthcare, education, and civic markets.
The promotions reflect each leader’s long-standing commitment to project delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and team development. All three began their careers with Skanska as interns, a testament to the company’s ability to cultivate talent from within and provide clear paths for career advancement.

Blake Beran has spent 16 years with Skanska, most recently serving as a Senior Project Manager in San Antonio. His portfolio includes major work in the healthcare and higher education sectors, where he has earned a reputation for operational excellence and building long-term client relationships. Beran’s resume includes successful partnerships with Methodist Healthcare, CHRISTUS Health System, Alamo Colleges, and UTSA.
“Blake’s promotion to Project Executive allows him to manage project teams and ensure continuity throughout building projects directly,” the company stated. He is also a key contributor to Skanska’s national Healthcare Advisory Council and takes an active role in recruiting efforts, furthering the company’s mission to attract top-tier construction professionals.
Tom Hull, another San Antonio-based leader, has been with Skanska for 17 years. Known for his reliable leadership and strong communication skills, Hull has guided key initiatives in education, healthcare, and government sectors. His experience includes work with Comal ISD, Northeast ISD, and the City of San Antonio.
“Tom’s exceptional communication skills and trustworthy nature at every level have made him an extraordinary leader,” the company noted. In addition to his project work, Hull contributes to the community as a board member of the Northeast Education Foundation, helping promote educational opportunities in the region.
Ben Johnson, based in Houston, brings nearly 12 years of experience to his new role. He has led numerous complex and high-profile projects across the region, including the Norton Rose Fulbright Tower in downtown Houston and the Wayne Roberts ’85 Building at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School.
“In his new role, he drives construction success by ensuring quality, budget, and schedule targets are met, while strengthening client relationships,” Skanska said. Johnson’s ability to consistently exceed expectations has positioned him as a trusted partner to clients and a mentor to emerging leaders within the company.
The promotions of Beran, Hull, and Johnson come at a time when Texas continues to see significant investment in public infrastructure, higher education, and healthcare facilities. With billions in construction underway across major metropolitan areas like Houston, San Antonio, and Austin, Skanska’s deep bench of leadership ensures the company is well-positioned to manage high-stakes, high-visibility projects that shape communities.
Skanska’s Texas portfolio has grown steadily over the past decade, and these leadership moves signal the company’s intent to further strengthen its presence in the region. The newly promoted executives will lead project teams from preconstruction through final delivery, with an emphasis on maintaining client trust, adhering to schedules and budgets, and promoting a culture of safety and innovation.
These advancements also underscore Skanska’s broader commitment to internal career development. With each of the three new Project Executives beginning their journey at Skanska as interns, the promotions highlight the company’s long-term investment in employee growth and leadership development.
Skanska’s footprint in Texas includes a wide range of project types—from academic and medical facilities to municipal buildings and corporate headquarters—and these leaders will continue to shape the firm’s success in delivering impactful work across sectors.
