CFO Transition at Skanska USA Civil

Financial leadership plays a critical role in managing risk, project performance and capital decisions across large infrastructure construction operations. Skanska has appointed Antonia Junelind as chief financial officer for its USA Civil business, with the transition scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Junelind will succeed Jari Mäntylä, who has served as CFO of Skanska USA Civil since relocating to the United States in 2016. Mäntylä will shift his focus to strategic initiatives within the business while preparing for his eventual retirement.

The two executives will work together during the transition period to support continuity within the finance organization.

Junelind Brings Broad Skanska Experience

Junelind has more than 15 years of experience with Skanska, including positions spanning finance, investor relations, transactions and business development.

She currently serves as senior vice president of investor relations for Skanska AB and previously served as acting senior vice president of corporate finance and control. Her earlier responsibilities included leadership positions in Skanska’s Commercial Property Development operations and Skanska Financial Services, along with an international assignment with Skanska UK.

Her experience covers both operational and financial functions, providing exposure to project-related business decisions as well as corporate finance activities.

Financial Oversight in Civil Construction

Mäntylä joined Skanska Finland as CFO in 2010 before moving to the United States six years later. During his tenure with USA Civil, he worked with operational leaders and project teams on financial management and business decisions.

The transition comes as Skanska USA Civil continues to manage construction operations across major infrastructure markets. Financial controls, risk management and project-level performance remain important elements of managing complex civil construction portfolios, particularly on projects involving long schedules and significant capital commitments.

Why It Matters

The CFO transition places a senior executive with experience across finance, transactions and business development into a key financial role within Skanska’s U.S. civil construction operations. Maintaining continuity during the change will be important for project teams and business leaders managing financial performance and risk across the portfolio.
