Skanska has announced the promotion of longtime executive Frank Longo to vice president – account manager for its South Florida building operations. The appointment, effective August 2, underscores the company’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
In his new role, Longo will be responsible for managing key client relationships and supporting project growth across one of Skanska’s most active regions. He will continue to oversee projects already under his leadership while expanding his responsibilities to ensure consistent delivery and strategic development in the region’s competitive construction market.
Longo brings more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry, including two decades with Skanska. Over his career, he has successfully led major projects in healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and civic spaces. His portfolio includes significant work with Jackson Health, Broward Health, Florida International University, and the University of Miami—projects that reflect both technical complexity and long-term community impact.
Tracy Hunt, executive vice president and general manager for Skanska’s Florida building operations, praised Longo’s leadership and regional expertise. “Frank’s deep experience in the South Florida market and his ability to build strong relationships with clients will be critical to advancing our work in this region,” Hunt said.
The promotion comes at a time when South Florida’s construction sector is seeing rapid growth, particularly in healthcare infrastructure, higher education facilities, and mixed-use developments. With the region’s population boom driving demand, Skanska has positioned Longo to play a central role in ensuring projects align with both client expectations and community needs.
As the company continues expanding its Florida operations, Skanska says the appointment reflects a broader strategy to strengthen leadership capacity and deepen partnerships across key sectors. For Longo, the move represents both recognition of his decades of service and an opportunity to shape the next phase of growth in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.
