Skanska selected for US$238m data centre build in Georgia, US

Construction Briefing

Swedish global construction and development company Skanska announced it will build another data centre in the US Southeast for approximately SEK 2.5 billion (US$238 million) for an ‘existing client’.

The project will construct a 22,700m2 (244,341 sq ft) data centre in the State of Georgia. Skanska will also provide the associated site work and underground utilities for an existing campus.

“The scope also includes a fitout of an administration space and five data halls,” said Skanska.

Work is scheduled to begin in June of this year with completion planned for May 2026.

Earlier this year, the firm signed a contract for a similar scheme in the Commonwealth of Virgina. That contract is for a 23,000m2 (250,000 sq. ft.) data campus; also for an ‘existing client’.
