The sheet metal industry is seeking nominations for professionals with long records of service and contributions to the trade, with the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association opening its latest College of Fellows nomination cycle.

Fellowship Eligibility and Nominations

The College of Fellows recognizes contractors and chapter executives whose careers have included significant contributions to the sheet metal industry and SMACNA.

Two nomination pathways are available, with separate forms for contractors and chapter executives. Candidates are evaluated based on the requirements outlined in SMACNA’s call for candidates.

Nominations must be postmarked or transmitted by email no later than Feb. 28, 2027. Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.

Recognition for Industry Service

The fellowship program provides an industry recognition mechanism for professionals whose work has contributed to the advancement of sheet metal contracting and related industry activities.

For contractors and chapter leaders, the nomination process places emphasis on sustained service and contributions rather than a single project or recent accomplishment.

Why It Matters

Industry recognition programs such as the College of Fellows provide a formal way to acknowledge experienced construction professionals and chapter leaders whose work has supported the sheet metal sector over the course of their careers.

For contractors and industry organizations, the nomination cycle also highlights the role of experienced leadership in maintaining institutional knowledge and advancing the specialty contracting workforce.
