LAS VEGAS, July 25, 2025 — The Nevada Contractors Association (NCA), in partnership with Vegas Inc, celebrated outstanding local builders, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals at the annual Contractor of the Year Awards, spotlighting those who are driving innovation and elevating construction standards across Southern Nevada.
This annual gathering honors not just companies but also the monumental projects that shape where people live, work, and play in the region.

“Together, we are building more than just structures,” said Ann Barnett, NCA’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are building Southern Nevada's future.”
These honors are considered the highest accolades in the region’s construction industry, recognizing excellence in execution, community impact, and industry leadership.
General Contractor of the Year: The PENTA Building Group
Founded in Las Vegas 25 years ago, The PENTA Building Group has completed more than $12 billion in projects nationwide and remains a trusted leader in the West. Known for its collaborative approach, PENTA partners with clients, design teams, and trade partners to deliver logistically complex, high-profile projects, including Las Vegas icons like T-Mobile Arena, Caesars Forum, and the Las Vegas Ballpark.
Most recently, PENTA completed the Culinary Health Fund’s $70.8 million North Las Vegas health center, a 97,000-square-foot facility built in under 20 months to serve more than 100,000 union members and their families. The company’s reputation for quality craftsmanship, safety culture, and people-first project delivery continues to expand as it grows in Arizona and Southern California.
Subcontractor of the Year: Helix Electric

A powerhouse in electrical contracting, Helix Electric has become a trusted partner for complex design-build projects nationwide. Established in 1985, Helix now has more than 1,000 employees and over 800 field electricians in Nevada alone.
Helix’s projects range from high-voltage power infrastructure to massive data centers and advanced manufacturing plants. The firm’s recent $14.6 million Crown Cork & Seal project in Mesquite highlights its innovative approach and strict commitment to safety.
Helix Electric is also praised for its robust 24/7 emergency services and for setting new benchmarks for safety and reliability in the sector.
Supplier of the Year: Professional Contractor Supply (PCS)
After more than six decades as Fasteners, Inc., the company rebranded as Professional Contractor Supply to reflect its wide-ranging construction supply capabilities. Headquartered in Las Vegas, PCS maintains strong ties to local contractors by ensuring rapid delivery, reliable product stock, and hands-on customer service.
PCS isn’t just a supplier; it also runs an on-site safety training facility, reinforcing the importance of safe worksites across Nevada. In addition to providing jobsite essentials, PCS remains rooted in its community, donating more than $200,000 to local charities last year alone.
Professional Service Firm of the Year: UES
UES continues to expand its footprint as a leader in environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and code compliance services. UES supports major developments throughout the Southwest, from the Brightline Las Vegas Station to the Dry Lake East Energy Center Solar Project.
Locally, UES’s state-of-the-art lab and 150-person Las Vegas office play a vital role in training the next generation of engineers and inspectors, ensuring that Southern Nevada’s construction sector remains on the cutting edge of technology and sustainability.
Safest General Contractor of the Year: CORE Construction
At CORE Construction, safety is non-negotiable. The company’s “Zero Incidents, Zero Accidents” policy is more than a slogan — it’s an operational pillar that has resulted in 14 consecutive years without a recordable lost time incident.
This year, CORE showcased its innovative safety strategies on the $100 million Nevada DMV project in Clark County, where a digital safety management system helps keep workers safe across a massive 21-acre site. CORE’s approach is shaping how safety is prioritized and embedded into every phase of modern construction.
