SR Construction Wins NCET Award for Reno ER Project

RENO, Nev. (June 2, 2025) — SR Construction has been awarded the prestigious 2025 NCET Construction Company of the Year honor by Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET), recognizing the firm’s cutting-edge work on the ER at Damonte Ranch in Reno.

This annual accolade is awarded to a construction firm that exemplifies excellence in technological integration, design innovation, and the use of advanced tools and software during project execution. The selected company must also deliver an innovative structure that sets a new benchmark for regional development.

Accepting the award on behalf of SR Construction were Vincent Mamone, Northern Nevada Regional Manager, Eunice Diestro, Project Manager, Andrea Bradford, Senior Project Engineer, and Bailey Barbato, Project Engineer.

The winning project, ER at Damonte Ranch, is a 10,456-square-foot standalone emergency medical office building designed to provide urgent care to patients of all ages. Situated on a 2.26-acre site at 1041 Steamboat Parkway, the facility extends the capabilities of Northern Nevada Medical Center by offering a fully equipped, hospital-style emergency room closer to suburban communities.

"This award is presented to the company that demonstrates technological innovation with tools, machinery, modifications, and software used during the design or construction phase of a project and constructs an innovative end-project which could be considered a prototype for the region,” NCET officials stated.

Designed for operational speed and efficiency, the ER features fast-track exam rooms to optimize triage, and supports both walk-in patients and ambulance arrivals. Services mirror those found in hospital emergency departments, including treatment for heart attacks, strokes, trauma, lacerations, acute pain, and other critical conditions.

"If a patient requires a higher level of care, they will partner with local EMS providers to transport patients to an appropriate regional hospital,” SR noted. While the facility does not include overnight beds, it is tightly integrated with the Northern Nevada Medical Center network to streamline transitions for patients needing hospitalization.

Recognition of Regional Impact

Held at the Grand Sierra Resort’s Tahoe Ballroom on May 20, 2025, the 18th Annual NCET Technology Awards celebrated leaders and innovators who have significantly contributed to Northern Nevada’s growing tech and business ecosystem.

The ER at Damonte Ranch was singled out not just for its medical significance, but for the innovative construction techniques used to deliver it on time and within budget. By implementing Lean Construction principles, SR Construction minimized waste, maximized collaboration, and maintained safety and workflow efficiency throughout the build.
