A construction management company is expanding its board-level expertise in health care and real estate as demand for specialized facilities continues to shape institutional construction. STO Building Group has appointed Peter Bulgarelli to its Board of Directors, adding an executive with extensive experience across health care real estate and related markets.
Bulgarelli most recently served as an executive vice president at Ventas, a publicly traded health care real estate investment trust. His responsibilities included leadership of Ventas' outpatient medical and research business and its Lillibridge Healthcare Services subsidiary.
During his tenure at Ventas, Bulgarelli was part of an executive team overseeing a portfolio of approximately 1,450 properties with about $60 billion in enterprise value across the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.
Before joining Ventas, Bulgarelli spent 28 years with JLL. He developed the company's health care group and ultimately led businesses covering health care, life sciences, higher education and the public sector.
Bulgarelli also has experience serving on corporate and nonprofit boards. His previous board roles include Ardent Health, where he participated in audit, nominating, compensation and strategic committees.
His addition to the STO Building Group board broadens the organization's expertise in health care markets and real estate management.
Bulgarelli holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois and a graduate management degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Health care construction requires coordination among owners, real estate stakeholders, designers and construction managers. Bulgarelli's background across health care real estate and institutional markets adds sector-specific experience to STO Building Group's board as the organization develops its broader strategic direction.
