Cherian will serve as vice president and national cities practice leader, helping expand STV's planning, design and development services for complex urban redevelopment initiatives across the country. His responsibilities include supporting projects from early planning through implementation while working with both public and private sector clients on large-scale development programs.
The leadership addition aligns with increasing demand for projects that combine transportation infrastructure, mixed-use development and community-focused urban planning. Transit-oriented developments and redevelopment districts remain a priority for many municipalities seeking to increase housing, commercial activity and transportation access.
Cherian joins STV with more than 25 years of experience spanning architecture, urban planning and design. His project portfolio includes waterfront redevelopment, downtown revitalization and mixed-use districts in locations including New York, Washington, D.C., Toronto and Shanghai.
His background also includes directing multidisciplinary project teams through planning, regulatory approvals, design and project delivery. That experience is expected to support STV's efforts to deliver integrated redevelopment programs across multiple markets.
STV's buildings group has participated in several major redevelopment initiatives, including the Harborplace redevelopment in Baltimore, the Walter Rand Transportation Center transit-oriented development in Camden, New Jersey, and the PhilaPort Cruise Terminal project in Philadelphia.
