STV Participates in Regional Fundraising Event

Community fundraising and employee engagement initiatives can strengthen relationships between construction and infrastructure companies and the communities where they operate. STV participated in the 2026 Dulles Plane Pull at Washington Dulles International Airport, joining organizations across the region in support of Special Olympics Virginia.

The event brought 67 teams to the airport runway and generated $512,000 for Special Olympics Virginia athletes. The organization uses fundraising to support sports training, competitions, health and fitness initiatives, education and leadership opportunities.

STV employees took part in the plane-pulling event alongside athletes and coaches, providing an opportunity for the company to participate directly in the fundraiser.

Fundraiser Supports Athlete Programs

The Dulles Plane Pull is an established fundraising event for Special Olympics Virginia. The 2026 event was held Aug. 22 at Dulles International Airport, according to the organization.

Special Olympics Virginia serves more than 23,000 athletes across the state through year-round programs provided at no cost to athletes. The organization also operates competitions, volunteer programs and leadership initiatives.

The $512,000 raised during this year's Dulles event adds to the fundraising support available for those programs. The event has remained a significant community fundraiser, with previous editions drawing corporate, public-sector and other organizational teams.

Community Engagement and Infrastructure Firms

For construction and infrastructure companies, participation in regional community initiatives can complement project delivery by connecting employees with local organizations and civic causes.

STV's involvement in the Dulles Plane Pull also aligns with the company's presence in the Washington, D.C., and Virginia market, where transportation infrastructure and aviation facilities are important components of the regional built environment.

The event illustrates how employee participation can provide infrastructure professionals with opportunities to engage with communities beyond their project work while supporting nonprofit programs with direct local impact.
