Ameerah Palacios, director of engagement at STV, has been appointed to a three-year term as a Delegate-at-Large for the Water Environment Federation’s House of Delegates, expanding her role in national water-sector communications and engagement.
The WEF House of Delegates serves as the federation’s representative and deliberative body, providing member perspectives and advising on strategic direction and public-policy development.
As part of her appointment, Palacios will support the House of Delegates’ Public Communications and Outreach community. Her work will focus on connecting communications, storytelling and public trust professionals while supporting efforts to improve public understanding of water treatment, sanitation, stormwater and watershed management.
The role also includes developing partnerships, listening sessions and shared storytelling resources intended to strengthen communication between water organizations, professionals and the communities they serve.
Palacios’ appointment builds on her involvement with other water-sector organizations. She serves on the American Water Works Association’s Public Affairs Council and Rogue Water’s Advisory Leadership Council, where her work has included strategic communications, public education, customer experience and community engagement.
STV also participated in WEFTEC 2026 in New Orleans, supporting the conference through sponsorship of its Career Fair and Women in Water Learning Exchange. The event brought together water professionals, utility leaders, engineers and industry representatives.
The appointment gives STV representation within WEF’s national leadership structure while placing additional attention on communication and public engagement within the water sector. For infrastructure owners and water-sector organizations, the role highlights the growing importance of public communication alongside technical planning, engineering and project delivery.
