STV Projects Earn Recognition Across 2026 Regional Infrastructure Awards

Transportation owners are continuing to invest in freight capacity, transit accessibility and aging infrastructure, creating demand for multidisciplinary engineering and construction management services. Five projects supported by STV have received regional recognition in the 2026 awards program, covering major transportation improvements in several U.S. markets.

Freight and Transit Infrastructure Projects

The Camp Hall Rail Phase 2 project in Berkeley County, South Carolina, received a Best Project designation in the Airport/Transit category. STV served as project manager and lead designer for Palmetto Railways, supporting civil and track design, highway and bridge engineering, drainage, signaling and permitting for the 23-mile rail connection.

The project is part of a larger program connecting Camp Hall Commerce Park with the national CSX rail network. The connection is intended to expand freight transportation options for industrial activity in South Carolina's Lowcountry.

In Baltimore, the CSXT Howard Street Tunnel Clearance Project received an Award of Merit. STV provided program and construction management services for the freight rail initiative, which addresses clearance limitations along an East Coast rail corridor.

The work spans Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania and supports double-stack intermodal rail operations. Improvements are also intended to strengthen freight connections to the Port of Baltimore.

Transit Accessibility and Bridge Improvements

The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit Windsor Extension in California received an Award of Merit. STV worked with SMART as an engineering and design partner, providing design for track infrastructure, Windsor Station and part of the bicycle and pedestrian pathway.

The Church Avenue Subway Station Redesign and Accessibility Upgrade in Brooklyn also received an Award of Merit. STV provided program and construction management and design compliance services for MTA Construction & Development. Improvements included a new entrance, elevators, stairs, accessible platform features and a transfer bridge.

In Florida, the Jupiter Federal Bridge Replacement on SR 5 and SR 811 was named a Best Project. Completed in 2025, the $122 million project replaced an aging bridge over the Loxahatchee River and Intracoastal Waterway with a twin double-leaf bascule bridge.

The bridge program also included roadway and intersection work, utility relocations, intelligent transportation system improvements and upgraded bicycle and pedestrian facilities. STV supported the Florida Department of Transportation through construction engineering and inspection services.

The range of recognized projects highlights the multidisciplinary requirements involved in transportation construction, from freight rail corridors and movable bridges to transit stations and accessibility upgrades.

For transportation owners and contractors, these programs demonstrate the need to coordinate design, construction management, permitting, utilities, multimodal access and operational requirements across complex infrastructure projects.
