Transportation infrastructure projects across Florida have received statewide industry recognition for improvements to bridge operations, regional mobility and roadway safety.
Three projects supported by STV were honoured by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC Florida) and the Florida Transportation Builders' Association (FTBA). STV provided construction engineering and inspection, design, construction administration and post-design services across the projects.
The awards recognize work spanning South Florida, Central Florida and Northeast Florida, with each project addressing different transportation infrastructure requirements.
The Jupiter Bascule Bridge Replacement received the 2026 ACEC Florida/Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Outstanding Bridge Project Award and an FTBA Best in Construction Award in the Major Bridges category.
The project replaced the aging U.S. 1 bridge over the Loxahatchee River with a modern movable-span structure. The replacement is intended to improve reliability for both roadway traffic and marine navigation. STV served as the prime construction engineering and inspection consultant.
In Central Florida, the SR 429 Corridor Capacity Improvements Project, Segment 2, received FTBA's Expressway Authority Project of the Year award. The work covered a 6.1-mile section of SR 429 between an area south of Florida's Turnpike and West Road.
The project expanded the roadway from four to six lanes and incorporated Flex Lanes to increase corridor capacity. STV provided construction administration and multidisciplinary inspection services for the Central Florida Expressway Authority.
The CR 220 at Lakeshore Drive Safety Improvements project in Clay County received recognition in FTBA's Local Agency Program category.
The $3.4 million construction project included installation of a new box-span traffic signal and modifications to median access to improve intersection safety and traffic operations.
Delivered under FDOT District Two, the project included design and post-design engineering services from STV. Construction was completed within the original 360-day contract duration.
The three awards highlight different approaches to addressing transportation infrastructure needs, from replacing aging movable bridges to expanding highway capacity and improving local intersections.
For transportation owners, general contractors and engineering firms, the projects demonstrate the range of construction delivery and inspection requirements involved in public infrastructure programs. The work also illustrates how design, construction engineering and multidisciplinary inspection services contribute to delivering transportation improvements within established project schedules.
