Leadership within architecture and engineering firms increasingly influences how complex building and infrastructure programs are planned, designed and delivered. STV’s recognition of Kim Vierheilig highlights the role of executive leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and supporting major public infrastructure investments.
Vierheilig, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, president of STV’s Buildings practice, has been named a 2026 Executive Excellence honoree. The annual program recognizes senior executives based on leadership, organizational performance, industry contributions, integrity and community involvement. Nearly 60 executives were selected for this year’s program.
Vierheilig oversees STV’s Buildings practice, which provides architecture, planning, interior design and engineering services for projects across North America. Her responsibilities span multidisciplinary teams working on complex building and infrastructure programs.
In New Jersey, STV Buildings teams under her leadership have contributed to projects including Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal A and resilience improvements for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission. These projects reflect the growing need for coordinated design and engineering services across transportation, aviation, utility and civic infrastructure.
Vierheilig has more than 25 years of experience as a licensed architect. Her leadership also extends beyond project delivery through participation in industry and business organizations.
The recognition follows several leadership milestones for Vierheilig.
In 2025, she received recognition from the Society of IndoAmerican Engineers & Architects for contributions to the architecture, engineering and construction industry. She also was elected to the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the National Academy of Construction.
Her involvement with professional organizations adds an industry-development component to her role at STV, particularly as architecture and engineering firms respond to infrastructure modernization, resilience requirements and increasingly multidisciplinary project delivery.
STV has also continued to expand its Buildings leadership and capabilities in 2026. The company has emphasized growth in infrastructure markets while investing in talent, technology and project delivery practices under its 2026-2028 strategic plan.
For construction owners and developers, executive leadership within design and engineering organizations can affect coordination across planning, design and delivery teams on complex capital programs. Recognition of leaders such as Vierheilig also reflects the broader importance of professional expertise, industry participation and multidisciplinary management in the delivery of public and private infrastructure.
The 2026 Executive Excellence recipients are scheduled to be recognized Oct. 13 at an awards ceremony in Somerset, New Jersey.
