STV has announced that Xiaoxuan Peng, RA, LEED AP BD+C, its director of computational delivery, has been appointed to the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for ISO/TC 59/SC 13, an international committee responsible for standards governing information management across the built environment.
Announced on October 15, 2026, the appointment gives Peng a role in contributing to the development and review of standards related to building information modelling, information exchange and interoperability across planning, design, construction and asset operations.
Peng also participates in standards initiatives through the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), serving on its Digital Twin Integration Council and Working Group 2. His work focuses on advancing digital twin implementation and integration across the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
The new appointment will involve contributing to international standards covering BIM, information management and the integration of built-asset and geospatial information. These standards aim to improve the consistency and exchange of project data across different teams, software systems and stages of an asset’s life cycle.
As infrastructure owners increasingly adopt digital delivery methods, consistent information frameworks can help teams coordinate projects and manage assets beyond construction completion.
Peng said standards can create a stronger foundation for digital twins by helping information move from design and construction into operations and maintenance.
Through his appointment, Peng will contribute to industry efforts to improve information continuity, support project decision-making and strengthen the long-term management of buildings and infrastructure.
STV provides planning, design, engineering and professional services for transportation, buildings, water and other infrastructure across North America. The appointment expands the company’s involvement in industry initiatives focused on digital project delivery and asset management.
