As part of its continued expansion in high-growth markets, Suffolk Construction has officially opened a new office in Las Vegas and appointed longtime construction executive Chris Anderson to lead its operations in the city.
The move signals Suffolk’s growing commitment to the gaming and hospitality sectors, especially in a region experiencing a surge in large-scale developments.
Anderson, who now assumes the role of general manager for the Las Vegas office, brings with him a wealth of industry experience spanning four decades. His expertise includes business development, preconstruction planning, and financial oversight—skills that will be instrumental in delivering complex projects in one of the most dynamic construction markets in the country.
According to the company’s announcement, Anderson previously spent over 20 years at Tutor Perini and its predecessor firm, Perini Building Co., both based in Los Angeles. His deep familiarity with the Las Vegas market and large-scale hospitality builds makes him a strategic fit for Suffolk’s expansion in the area.
“Las Vegas presents unique opportunities and challenges in construction, and Suffolk’s technology-driven methods are perfectly suited to deliver value to clients in this market,” Anderson said in the release.
Suffolk has been quietly strengthening its gaming division by bringing in top talent with proven track records in the sector. Anderson is the second high-profile addition with ties to Tutor Perini. In November 2023, Suffolk appointed Chris Creasey—who also spent over two decades with the L.A.-based contractor—as vice president of its gaming division.
The Las Vegas office is expected to serve as a key operational hub, enabling Suffolk to be closer to clients and project sites, and better equipped to deliver its signature high-quality service.
“Las Vegas is a growing and dynamic market for gaming and hospitality and Suffolk’s streamlined approach to managing complex, sophisticated projects positions us well to add even more value with an office on the ground,” said Pete Tuffo, Suffolk’s president of the Gulf Coast region and national gaming, in the release.
As a testament to its commitment in the region, Suffolk recently secured a significant contract for the Four Seasons Private Residences in Henderson, Nevada. The project will include the construction of two adjoining luxury condominium towers housing 171 residential units, as well as a variety of shared upscale amenities designed to elevate the living experience.
This Las Vegas expansion reflects Suffolk’s broader national strategy: to establish deep roots in key markets through strategic hires, innovative technology adoption, and a reputation for handling some of the nation’s most ambitious and intricate construction projects.
