Construction contractors pursuing transportation and heavy civil work in the Pacific Northwest are placing greater emphasis on regional client relationships and project pursuits. Sundt Construction has added Amanda Martindale, CPSM, to support those activities across Washington, Oregon and western Nevada.
Martindale is based in Vancouver, Washington, and will focus on identifying opportunities, developing client relationships and supporting pursuit activities for Sundt’s transportation and heavy civil markets.
Martindale joins Sundt after serving as senior proposal manager and Washington business development lead at AKS Engineering & Forestry. She also spent more than six years with Goodfellow Bros., where her responsibilities included business development, marketing and communications for heavy civil construction operations.
Her background combines proposal management with regional business development experience, giving Sundt additional capacity for pursuing transportation and heavy civil projects in the Northwest.
Martindale holds an Associate of Arts degree in graphic design from The Art Institute of Seattle. She earned the Certified Professional Services Marketer designation in 2025.
Her professional involvement includes the Society for Marketing Professional Services Oregon Chapter, Women in Transportation, the Portland chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction and the American Marketing Association.
Sundt operates across several construction sectors, including transportation, water and wastewater, advanced facilities, heavy industrial and mining, building, concrete and renewable power.
The contractor has offices in Washington and other states including California, Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, Utah and Florida. Sundt has more than 5,200 employees and is employee-owned.
Martindale's assignment specifically covers transportation and heavy civil markets in three western states, giving Sundt dedicated business development support for opportunities across that geographic area.
The addition strengthens Sundt's regional business development resources for transportation and heavy civil work. For owners and public-sector project stakeholders, regional pursuit teams can provide dedicated support for identifying opportunities, developing project relationships and coordinating responses to upcoming procurements.
