TAK Broadband Expands Southern California Operations with GSI Acquisition

Victorville, Calif. — TAK Broadband has expanded its presence in Southern California through the acquisition of Gulbranson Services, Inc. (GSI), a regional telecommunications contractor founded in 2005 and based in Victorville. The deal, announced this week, marks a key step in TAK’s continued effort to strengthen its West Coast footprint and enhance its fiber construction capabilities.

GSI provides drop bury, maintenance, and fiber-to-the-home construction services across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, serving a wide range of broadband and telecommunications clients. Following the acquisition, TAK said it plans to extend GSI’s operations throughout Southern California, leveraging the company’s experienced construction and field service teams to support TAK’s ongoing growth.

TAK Broadband, a national provider of fiber and broadband network services, specializes in last-mile connectivity, on-premises technology deployment, and infrastructure support for broadband and telecommunications companies. The acquisition aligns with TAK’s broader strategy of expanding its regional reach and service diversity in high-demand markets.

The move also builds on TAK’s momentum since being acquired by Platinum Equity in March 2024. The private equity firm framed the GSI deal as part of its broader strategy to pursue “accretive tuck-in acquisitions” that strengthen TAK’s customer base and recurring revenue streams.

“Part of our investment thesis with TAK is to pursue accretive tuck-in acquisitions that help diversify the company’s customer base and increase its reoccurring revenue,” said Co-President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Dan Krasner of Platinum Equity. “GSI helps advance the ball on both fronts.”

TAK said the acquisition will help meet growing demand for high-speed connectivity and fiber installation throughout Southern California, where expanding broadband access remains a top regional priority. With GSI’s established local presence and field expertise, TAK expects to accelerate project delivery timelines and improve service efficiency for telecommunications clients.

The integration will also provide new opportunities for workforce expansion and local hiring, reinforcing TAK’s commitment to investing in communities where it operates. The company’s national operations already span multiple states, with a strong focus on fiber deployment, broadband maintenance, and technology implementation for both private and public sector clients.

GSI founder Bob DeLaHoussaye, who has led the company since its founding, will assist in the transition as TAK incorporates GSI’s teams, systems, and customer relationships into its growing regional network.

The acquisition reflects broader consolidation trends across the broadband infrastructure sector as providers seek to scale up to meet federal and state connectivity goals under programs such as the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) initiative.

With the addition of GSI, TAK Broadband strengthens its position as a leading partner in designing, constructing, and maintaining next-generation network infrastructure that connects homes, businesses, and communities across the U.S.
