As demand grows for technical expertise, operational consistency, and environmental compliance, Terracon has expanded its leadership team with two senior appointments aimed at strengthening operations in the Midwest and Eastern United States.
The employee-owned consulting engineering firm named A.J. Catalanotte as senior vice president of operations for its North Central Division and Tom Lazott as assistant service line director for environmental services in its Eastern Operating Group.
Catalanotte will oversee operations across Terracon's North Central Division, which serves clients through 42 offices in 11 Midwestern states and employs approximately 1,400 people. His responsibilities include operational performance, safety, quality, staff development, financial management, and business growth.
Before joining Terracon, Catalanotte held executive leadership positions with a global infrastructure services provider, overseeing multi-state infrastructure, transportation, environmental, and construction services organizations. His professional background also includes service in the U.S. Navy as a facilities services and construction manager and P-3C pilot.
Catalanotte holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Marquette University, is a licensed professional engineer in Wisconsin and California, and is a certified construction manager.
Terracon also expanded its environmental leadership by appointing Lazott as assistant service line director for environmental services within the company's Eastern Operating Group.
Working with operations and department leaders across 18 states, Lazott will help guide environmental services strategy, operational consistency, business growth, talent development, and safety initiatives.
Since joining Terracon in 2025, Lazott has served as principal and regional environmental practice leader supporting multiple New England offices. His career includes leadership in environmental consulting, compliance, remediation, business development, strategic planning, and site investigation. He also serves on several professional and academic advisory organizations focused on environmental science.
Lazott earned a bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is a licensed professional geologist in New Hampshire. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Southern New Hampshire University.
