Texas Roadhouse Rising in New Braunfels

Beloved Texas Roadhouse Nears Opening in Booming New Braunfels Shopping Hub

Steak lovers in New Braunfels may soon have a new reason to celebrate — the long-awaited Texas Roadhouse location is finally taking shape after months of visible signs but little activity.

The $2 million restaurant is under construction just off the busy I-35 corridor, tucked inside the popular Town Center at Creekside — a growing shopping and dining district that has turned into a magnet for big-box stores, chain restaurants, and endless Hill Country traffic.

Locals who’ve watched the logo linger on the center’s sign without a steak in sight are now getting their hopes up as visible work ramps up at the site.

"The sign’s been up forever—finally it means something!" joked Reddit user nick_soccer10 in the r/NewBraunfels subreddit, echoing the mix of impatience and excitement that’s surrounded the project for over a year.

According to records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation back in 2023, construction was initially scheduled to start in February 2024 and wrap by that September. But delays left the lot dormant for months — until now.

Bringing the Cult-Favorite Chain to Town

When it opens, the New Braunfels Texas Roadhouse will span more than 8,000 square feet, offering fans the chain’s signature lineup of steaks, ribs, seafood, ice-cold beer, and the famous dinner rolls drenched in cinnamon butter — a staple that’s helped the Kentucky-based brand earn its cult-like following.

The location will also include a full-service bar, giving patrons another watering hole option in the ever-growing Creekside area, which continues to attract families and travelers along the San Antonio-to-Austin corridor.

While steak fans are eager to pull up a chair, Texas Roadhouse has yet to confirm an official opening date for the New Braunfels outpost, and the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Part of a Bigger Texas Expansion

This new spot is just one piece of Texas Roadhouse’s broader push across the Lone Star State. The chain recently revealed plans for multiple new restaurants in rapidly growing communities including Kyle, Leander, Eagle Pass, and several others, betting big that Texans’ appetite for hearty steaks and casual dining isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

With construction back on track and visible progress on-site, New Braunfels residents can look forward to joining the thousands of fans across Texas who make Texas Roadhouse a weekend staple — complete with line-dancing servers, peanut shells on the floor, and plenty of sweet butter on tap.

For now, hungry locals can keep driving by 3206 I-35 S. and watch the long-promised project finally come to life.
