From federal infrastructure to high-tech campuses, construction contractors across the country reported a series of significant new project wins in June 2025. For many firms, these awards represent more than new work—they reflect years of relationship-building, preconstruction planning, and competitive bidding.
“Contractors thrive on new business and opportunities, living for the moment when a potential project becomes reality,” Construction Dive noted in its latest roundup of awarded work. “After completing all the hard work of estimating, preparing and presenting a bid, there’s nothing quite like getting that call from a client to say the job is yours.”
Below are some of the major projects announced this month:

Jacobs Expands Boeing Campus in Missouri
Jacobs, a global professional services firm, will lead the construction of an expanded Boeing campus in St. Louis, Missouri. A rendering released by the company shows a sleek, modern facility, reinforcing Boeing’s investment in advanced aerospace engineering and defense capabilities in the region.
This award continues Jacobs’ long-standing relationship with Boeing and highlights the growth of defense-sector investment in the Midwest.
Walsh Group Builds Infrastructure for U.S. Border
The Walsh Group announced its involvement in a new phase of border wall construction in Arizona, under a federal infrastructure program. The scope includes both vertical barrier construction and supporting infrastructure such as roads and drainage systems. While politically charged, these contracts reflect the ongoing federal investment in border security and civil works.
Yates Construction Tapped for Mixed-Use California Project
Yates Construction won the bid for a major mixed-use development in California, which will include residential units, commercial retail space, and integrated public amenities. The project, expected to break ground in Q3, is located in a fast-growing region driven by population growth and urban infill development.
Lunda to Build Utility-Scale Solar Facility in Texas
Lunda Construction was selected to build a large solar energy facility in Texas, continuing the trend of expanding renewable infrastructure across the state. The project will include thousands of photovoltaic panels, battery storage, and interconnection to the grid, helping to support the state’s push toward more sustainable energy sources.
Industry Momentum
These awards showcase the diversity of active sectors within the U.S. construction industry—from federal civil works and defense projects to renewable energy and high-density urban development.
With summer in full swing, contractors are racing to mobilize teams, secure materials, and push projects into active development before the close of the 2025 construction season. For many of the firms involved, these projects not only represent significant revenue but also strategic footholds in growth markets.
As Construction Dive summarizes, “Here, Construction Dive tracks the top contract wins announced by some of the country’s biggest builders in June, including border wall construction in Arizona, a mixed-use development in California and a solar facility in Texas.”
