HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Hatboro-Horsham School District has officially begun the first phase of tree removal as part of the ongoing Keith Valley Middle School construction project. The initial removal work started on Friday and is expected to continue into next week.
The trees being removed are located on district property near Arundel Avenue, which will make way for the new facility. School officials also confirmed that the remaining trees along Arundel Avenue will be cleared in the summer months.

The new Keith Valley Middle School is slated to open its doors for students on Sept. 2, 2025.
During the Hatboro-Horsham School Board’s committee meeting earlier this month, an update was provided on the progress of the project. Board members were informed that the construction remains on budget and is on track to be completed by the beginning of the school year.

In terms of demolition, work on the current Keith Valley Middle School building will begin by mid-November, with demolition set to wrap up by April 2025
“The removal of these trees is an essential part of getting the construction underway, and we are excited to see the progress made toward the completion of this much-needed facility,” said a spokesperson from the Hatboro-Horsham School District.
“We’re on track to have the new Keith Valley Middle School ready to welcome students by September 2, and this marks the first significant step in that process,” said a member of the school board
School officials have reassured the community that the tree removal is being done carefully to minimize environmental impact. They have worked in collaboration with local authorities to ensure that the process adheres to all necessary environmental standards.
Community members can expect periodic updates as the project progresses, with future notifications about developments and potential disruptions to traffic or local areas.
The construction of the new school building is part of a broader effort to modernize and improve educational facilities in the Hatboro-Horsham School District to accommodate growing student populations and evolving educational needs.
