The Press Blocks development in Portland’s Goose Hollow neighborhood is set to redefine the city’s skyline with its innovative design and sustainability-driven approach. Turner Construction Company recently celebrated a key milestone—the topping-out ceremony—marking the completion of vertical construction for the mixed-use development. This project will house a 23-story residential tower and an office building, both combining cutting-edge design with environmentally-conscious materials and energy-efficient solutions.

Spanning 322,000 square feet, the residential tower will feature 341 units, addressing the city’s growing need for sustainable housing solutions. These units are designed with modern amenities that cater to a range of residents, from young professionals to families. The development aims to provide residents with a vibrant urban lifestyle, complete with easy access to public transportation, retail spaces, and recreational areas.

Adjacent to the residential tower, the office building will offer 48,000 square feet of office space, designed for flexibility and collaboration in a forward-thinking workspace. With its hybrid design, blending heavy timber, steel, and concrete, the building not only promises functionality but also represents Portland’s commitment to integrating sustainability into every facet of urban development.

The development includes four levels of below-grade parking, a crucial addition to support the residents and businesses that will occupy the site. The project is targeting LEED Silver certification, underscoring its dedication to sustainable construction practices and environmental impact reduction.

We look forward to delivering a project that will enhance the livability of Portland while fostering economic growth in the Goose Hollow area.”

With the project slated for completion in late 2025, the Press Blocks development is poised to bring a new level of modernity and sustainability to Portland's urban fabric. The focus on creating a space that prioritizes both community and environmental responsibility will ensure the development remains a lasting asset to the neighborhood for years to come.

This mixed-use project is not only a milestone for Turner Construction and its partners but also a step forward in Portland's journey towards more sustainable urban development. The project aims to be a model for future developments in cities across the country, showing how architecture can embrace the principles of sustainability without compromising on functionality or aesthetic appeal. As Portland continues to grow, projects like Press Blocks will be critical in meeting the needs of its diverse and dynamic population.
