Turner Construction Named Lead Builder for Republic FC Stadium in Sacramento

Turner Construction Company has been selected to lead the construction of Republic FC’s highly anticipated new soccer stadium in downtown Sacramento. The 12,000-seat stadium will serve as the new home for the USL club and act as a catalyst for downtown revitalization, economic development, and community pride.
With extensive experience delivering premier sports venues across the nation, Turner brings its legacy of craftsmanship and innovation to this transformative project. The stadium is not only a milestone for Republic FC but also a long-term investment in Sacramento’s cultural and civic future.

Turner Construction, known for iconic facilities like Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, is expected to set a new standard in soccer-specific stadium construction. The firm is committed to sustainability, community impact, and inclusive design.
“What an incredible moment to pause and celebrate what this project means in forward progress and lasting impact for the community we live and work in,” said Drake Costa, Vice President & General Manager, Turner Construction Company. “With a clear alignment in our collective core values, we are excited for what this project means for Sacramento, beyond the build. We are proud to join with Wilton Rancheria and Republic FC to build a stadium that’s grounded in community, rooted in history, and built for the future of Sacramento.”
The construction effort is expected to generate over 1,200 construction jobs, infusing more than $240 million into the local economy. Turner and Republic FC are also launching a variety of workforce development and small business engagement programs, ensuring that the benefits of the stadium are felt far beyond its walls.
In addition to hosting Republic FC matches, the stadium is expected to bring nearly 40 additional major events annually, helping transform Sacramento into a premier sports and entertainment destination. From concerts and festivals to civic events, the venue will be designed with flexibility and community usage in mind.
The project is a collaboration between Republic FC, Turner Construction, and Wilton Rancheria, underscoring the value of public-private partnerships and shared vision. With construction set to begin in late summer 2025, the stadium is expected to open by 2027, ushering in a new era for soccer fans and the city at large.
Republic FC is already generating buzz around the project with season ticket memberships and premium seating packages launching later this year. The club also invites the community to follow updates via RepublicStadium.com or @NewRepublicStadium on Instagram.
