The U.S. Air Force has selected Turner Construction Company as one of eight contractors supporting a $900 million facilities restoration and modernization program for military ground-testing infrastructure.
The Facilities Acquisitions for Restoration and Modernization III program will be delivered through a multiple-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. Individual projects will be issued through task orders over the contract period.
Potential work includes mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation, data systems and controls, as well as design-build and construction services. The program is scheduled to remain active through September 4, 2034.
The work will support facilities associated with the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, a U.S. Air Force testing organization with specialized infrastructure and operational requirements.
Turner’s selection follows its work under the earlier FARM I and FARM II programs at AEDC. Those efforts involved restoration, modernization and reconfiguration of facilities and infrastructure supporting the complex’s testing mission.
Experience from the previous programs gives Turner familiarity with AEDC’s specialized facilities and operational requirements. The FARM III contract provides a framework for additional infrastructure improvements through future task orders.
The FARM III program adds another contracting vehicle for addressing infrastructure needs at military testing facilities. For construction contractors, the multiple-award structure provides opportunities for task-order work spanning building systems, controls, instrumentation and construction.
The program also reflects continued federal investment in specialized infrastructure supporting defense testing and research capabilities. Turner’s participation extends its involvement in AEDC projects while positioning the contractor for work issued under the new program through 2034.
