The Merdeka 118 tower in Kuala Lumpur — currently one of the tallest buildings in the world — was named Best Tall Building Worldwide, highlighting its combination of cutting-edge design, cultural symbolism, and sustainable construction practices. The 118-story structure has quickly become a defining feature of Malaysia’s skyline and a global benchmark in tall building excellence.
In New York City, Turner’s PENN 2 project earned the Repositioning Award, recognizing its transformation of an existing commercial tower into a revitalized, energy-efficient, and human-centered workplace. The project demonstrates how adaptive reuse and modernization can breathe new life into historic urban infrastructure while meeting the evolving needs of tenants and the community.
Meanwhile, the Istanbul Finance Center in Turkey received a Construction Award for its exceptional execution and large-scale coordination across a complex, multi-phase project. The development is designed to serve as a key financial hub linking Europe, Asia, and the Middle East — showcasing Turner’s expertise in managing sophisticated global construction programs.

Turner was also recognized by CTBUH for its commitment to inclusion, acknowledging the company’s continuous efforts to build a culture that values diversity, equity, and collaboration across all levels of its workforce.
“These recognitions reflect the innovation, collaboration, and craftsmanship of our people and partners across the globe,” said Abrar Sheriff, President of Turner Construction Company. “We are proud to help shape the skylines of cities while also advancing inclusion in our industry.”
The awards highlight Turner’s global influence in advancing sustainable, human-centered design and its capacity to execute some of the world’s most complex projects. The company’s recent achievements underscore how modern construction is not only about engineering excellence but also about creating spaces that foster community, inclusivity, and long-term environmental resilience.
CTBUH’s International Conference serves as one of the world’s leading forums for discussing the evolution of vertical urbanism — celebrating projects that redefine city skylines while advancing sustainability and livability. Turner’s recognition across multiple categories reinforces its reputation as a trusted partner in delivering high-performance buildings that shape the cities of tomorrow.
