Investment in technical education facilities continues to grow as higher education institutions expand training capacity for industries facing skilled labor shortages. Turner Construction Company has reached a key construction milestone at Hudson Valley Community College with the completion of the structural steel framework for the new Applied Technology Education Center.
The topping out marks continued progress on the approximately 130,000-square-foot academic building, which is being developed to prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor technology, engineering, robotics, clean energy and other high-demand industries.
The Applied Technology Education Center will feature specialized laboratories, flexible instructional areas, collaborative learning environments and dedicated training spaces designed to support hands-on technical education.
The facility is intended to strengthen workforce preparation by providing students with practical learning environments aligned with the needs of advanced manufacturing and technology employers across New York.
Turner has coordinated construction activities with Hudson Valley Community College and project stakeholders to maintain safety, quality and project scheduling while limiting disruptions to daily campus operations.
Work will continue following completion of the building's structural frame as crews advance interior construction and building systems toward project completion.
