UM Health-Sparrow Donates AEDs to Lansing Schools

In observance of American Heart Month, UM Health-Sparrow is donating Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to schools across Lansing. A local cardiologist from the hospital is educating the community on the vital role of AEDs in saving lives. According to the CDC, sudden cardiac arrest is responsible for the deaths of about 2,000 young people under 25 each year, many of whom are student-athletes. AEDs can significantly improve the chances of survival if used quickly and correctly. UM Health-Sparrow’s donation aims to equip local schools with the tools to respond effectively in emergency situations, ensuring the safety of students and staff.

M-43 Construction Season Kicks Off in Ingham County with Road Closures

The construction season is in full swing as work begins on the M-43 bridge replacement project near the Red Cedar River. Ingham County residents, particularly in Okemos and Williamston, should prepare for road closures and detours in the area.
