VAN ALSTYNE, Texas — Construction is now underway on Van Alstyne’s third elementary campus, the Charles and Beth Williams Elementary School, which is slated to open in the fall of 2026. This new facility aims to accommodate the city’s rapidly increasing student population as the area experiences significant growth.
City officials note that the new elementary school will provide much-needed classroom capacity to serve the influx of new residents moving into the area. According to recent studies, Van Alstyne’s population is expected to swell dramatically, from its current estimated 8,300 residents to approximately 55,000 by the fourth quarter of 2029.

This substantial increase in population has prompted local leaders to prioritize educational infrastructure to ensure the community’s schools keep pace with growth. The new campus will feature modern classrooms, playgrounds, and specialized facilities designed to support a comprehensive elementary education.
“The Charles and Beth Williams Elementary School is a critical investment in our community’s future,” said a city spokesperson. “We want to ensure that every child in Van Alstyne has access to a quality education close to home, even as our city continues to grow at an unprecedented rate.”
The project is part of a broader effort by Van Alstyne Independent School District (ISD) to expand its capacity and enhance educational resources across the city. In addition to classroom space, the school will incorporate sustainable design features and technology upgrades to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for students and teachers alike.
Local residents and parents have expressed support for the new school, recognizing the importance of accommodating the city’s expanding youth population while maintaining a high standard of education.
Construction is progressing on schedule, with district officials confident that the school will be ready for students when the new academic year begins in fall 2026.
