WEBER COUNTY, Utah, June 5, 2025 — Authorities in Weber County are seeking public assistance to identify individuals responsible for significant vandalism at the construction site of the new Roosevelt Elementary School in Washington Terrace.
The Weber County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) reported that early Thursday morning, a group broke into the school construction area and caused thousands of dollars in damage to the property.

"The Weber School District is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the people responsible for this crime," WCSO Lt. Sean Endsley said in an official statement. He also released several surveillance photos showing masked vandals inside the building.
Lt. Endsley urged the community, saying, "If you recognize the people in the photos below, or have information related to the case, please contact the Weber County Sheriff's Office Investigations Bureau at 801-778-6631."
The sheriff’s office has also provided alternative ways for tipsters to report information confidentially. Tips can be submitted online at www.webercountyutah.gov/sheriff under the "See Something Say Something" section or by calling Weber Area Dispatch at 801-395-8221, referencing case numbers 25WC19863 and 25WC19712.
- Impact on Project Timeline: Construction teams are assessing the damage, which includes broken windows, damaged materials, and graffiti, potentially delaying the school’s scheduled completion date. Officials have not yet confirmed the full extent of the financial impact but estimate it to be in the thousands of dollars.
- Community Response: Local residents expressed concern over the safety and security of the construction site and called for increased patrols and surveillance to prevent future incidents.
- Security Measures: The school district and law enforcement agencies are reviewing security protocols at construction sites across the county to better protect public investment and ensure the safety of workers and community members.
- Roosevelt Elementary School: This new facility is part of the Weber School District’s effort to accommodate growing student populations and improve educational infrastructure in Washington Terrace. The project has been largely supported by the community and local government.
