Griffin, who recently returned from a seven-month deployment to Jordan, served as aircraft maintenance squadron commander for the 165th Airlift Wing. As a proud Air Force officer, she draws deep connections between her service experience and the fast-paced, team-driven environment of construction.

“The military and construction are both about leadership, discipline, and teamwork,” Griffin explains in the episode. “Whether you’re managing a mission overseas or overseeing a multimillion-dollar project here at home, success comes down to communication, trust, and the ability to adapt.”

Now back in Phoenix, Griffin leads project management teams across the Southwest, driving the successful execution of projects in healthcare, multifamily, and education sectors. She has been with Ryan Companies for nearly four years and continues to play a vital role in developing meaningful spaces for clients throughout the region.

Her story highlights the strength and versatility of veterans transitioning into civilian careers, particularly in construction — an industry that values precision, leadership, and mission focus. “Construction has so many parallels to my military service,” she shares. “You’re still serving — just in a different way. You’re building something lasting, something that supports people and communities.

Griffin’s journey began when she enlisted in the Air National Guard in 2003. On her most recent deployment, she led more than 250 airmen and women, an experience she describes as both challenging and rewarding. Her leadership experience now informs how she motivates and manages teams in complex construction environments.
