Construction activity is planned from Monday through Friday, with crews working daily from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Officials said the projects may involve lane closures, temporary street restrictions, and detours, depending on the location and progress of the work.

The streets affected include:

  • Glen Oaks Road
  • Sweetbriar Road
  • Gloucester Road
  • Pine Ridge Drive
  • Linden Place near Tulip Street
  • Ashwood Avenue near the Summit Free Public Library and Jefferson Elementary School
  • Passaic Avenue at Springfield Avenue

Drivers are encouraged to allow additional travel time, particularly during peak commuting hours, as traffic patterns may shift throughout the week. Pedestrians and cyclists should also remain alert for construction equipment and changing sidewalk access in active work zones.

City officials noted that the construction schedule is weather dependent, meaning some work may be adjusted or delayed if conditions are unfavorable.

Residents who have questions or concerns about traffic conditions, detours, or safety near construction areas can contact the Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau at 908-273-0051 for additional information.

The city advises residents to stay informed through local alerts and to follow posted signage to help minimize delays and ensure safety during the weeklong construction period.
