The Deschutes County Road Department has released its weekly construction update outlining planned roadwork, closures and travel impacts across Central Oregon for the week of January 4 through January 10, 2026. Motorists are advised to plan for delays, lane closures and changing conditions throughout the region.

Permanent sign installation work is scheduled on several roadways in the Bend and Redmond areas, including Old Bend-Redmond Highway, S Canal Boulevard and O.B. Riley Road.
Road users should expect shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures during work hours, which are set from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flaggers will be on site to manage traffic, and delays of up to 20 minutes are possible.
No construction activity is planned this week at the South Century Drive and Huntington Road intersection in the La Pine area. However, travelers are still encouraged to use caution while passing through the work zone.
The intersection remains controlled by an all-way stop, and a temporary speed limit of 25 miles per hour is in effect.
Crews may continue sewer utility work in off-highway areas along Northwest Way and NW Coyner Avenue. Drivers should watch for construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway during work hours. Questions regarding this project should be directed to the City of Redmond Wetlands Complex project website.

ODOT crews may be installing concrete and conducting utility work on 11th Street and C Avenue. As a result, 11th Street between Smith Rock Way and C Avenue is closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, with signed detour routes in place.
Lower Bridge Way remains open but restricted to right-in, right-out movements only. Odem Avenue is also limited to right-in, right-out traffic. Northbound U.S. 97 traffic should continue to follow the signed detour using NW 19th Street and NW Davidson Way. A temporary speed limit of 45 miles per hour is in place on NW 19th Street.
China Hat Road and Forest Service Road 1815 remain closed at the U.S. Forest Service boundary for forest thinning work. Both roads are closed to all traffic at the end of county maintenance, and access to the area will remain restricted until further notice.
Several high-elevation routes remain closed due to winter conditions:
County officials remind the public that construction schedules and work hours may change depending on weather conditions. Travelers are encouraged to stay alert, follow posted signs and plan extra travel time when moving through work zones.
