Wohlsen Construction Names Brett Stevens to Lead Delaware Valley Region

Construction Owners Editorial Team

Wohlsen Construction is preparing for a leadership transition in its Delaware Valley operations, with implications for client relationships, project development and regional business strategy as the construction market continues to evolve.

Highlights

  • Mike Berardi will retire at the end of 2026 after more than 45 years in the construction industry.
  • Berardi has led Wohlsen’s Delaware Valley Region for 15 years.
  • Brett Stevens has been appointed senior vice president of the Delaware Valley Region and will succeed Berardi.
  • Stevens joined Wohlsen in 2021 and has more than 26 years of experience across construction management, real estate development, finance and business strategy.
  • The transition is intended to maintain continuity across the company’s Delaware Valley operations.

Stevens Brings Broad Construction and Development Experience

Stevens currently serves as Wohlsen’s vice president of revenue strategy, a position he has held since joining the company in 2021. His responsibilities have included strengthening client relationships and supporting business development across the organization.

His career spans more than 26 years across design, real estate development, finance, business strategy and construction management. Before joining Wohlsen, Stevens held executive leadership positions that gave him experience managing client objectives and complex project requirements from early planning through completion.

His professional background also includes recognition through an American City Business Journals 40 Under 40 award and involvement with Habitat for Humanity, the Urban Land Institute and the ACE Mentor Program.

Planned Transition Supports Regional Continuity

Berardi has led Wohlsen’s Delaware Valley Region for 15 years, overseeing a period of sustained growth and developing relationships with clients, project partners and employee-owners.

His retirement at the end of 2026 provides a defined transition period before Stevens assumes full regional leadership. The planned succession allows the company to transfer institutional knowledge and maintain continuity in regional operations and client engagement.

For construction companies operating across competitive regional markets, leadership succession can affect business development, workforce management, client retention and the ability to maintain project pipelines. A structured transition can help reduce disruption while preserving established relationships.

Why It Matters

The leadership change comes as contractors continue to compete for projects while managing workforce demands, development activity and increasingly complex project delivery requirements. Maintaining experienced regional leadership can help construction companies preserve market relationships and support consistent execution across active and future projects.

Stevens’ combination of construction, development and financial experience also positions him to oversee the Delaware Valley Region from both operational and business perspectives as Wohlsen moves into its next phase of regional leadership.
