Bechtel-ENKA Wins Program Management Award for Morava Corridor

The Bechtel-ENKA team behind the Morava Corridor Motorway has been awarded the International Road Federation’s (IRF) Global Program Management Award. This prestigious recognition highlights excellence in road infrastructure management, celebrating the team’s leadership in enhancing global mobility, safety, and sustainability.

The Bechtel-ENKA team received the award during a ceremony in Orlando, FL, recognizing their exceptional program management that has set new industry standards in infrastructure delivery.

“We are deeply honored to receive the prestigious Program Management Award, recognizing our commitment to industry leadership, continuous improvement, and raising the bar for project management standards,” said Shawn MacCormack, Project Director for the Morava Corridor Motorway. “This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of the Bechtel-ENKA Morava Corridor Motorway Project team. I am incredibly proud of their hard work and collaborative spirit in delivering exceptional results on this complex project. Together, we are building infrastructure that connects communities and shapes a more sustainable future in Serbia.”

“Congratulations to Bechtel on receiving the Global Road Achievement Award for Quality Management for the Morava Corridor Project,” said Patrick Sankey, President & CEO, International Road Federation (IRF Global). “This recognition is a testament to your unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in delivering world-class infrastructure that drives progress and connectivity.”

The Program Management Award is the latest recognition for the Morava Corridor Motorway, following the IRF Environmental Stewardship Award received in October. This award honored the project’s commitment to integrating flood protection measures and environmental conservation, including biodiversity preservation. The environmental features of the project include 37 km of river diversion, 28 kilometers of flood protection dykes, and 236 kilometers of drainage systems.

The 112-kilometer Morava Corridor Motorway, designed for speeds up to 130 km/h, strategically connects central Serbia to Pan-European Corridors 10 and 11, facilitating access to Bosnia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. It includes a range of infrastructure such as interchanges, bridges, overpasses, underpasses, and wildlife protection features.
