BidIntell Launches AI-Powered Pre-Bid Intelligence Platform for Construction Subcontractors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — BidIntell, an AI-driven bid intelligence platform designed for commercial construction subcontractors, distributors and manufacturer representatives, has officially launched, offering a new way for industry professionals to evaluate bid opportunities before committing significant time and resources.

The software-as-a-service platform aims to streamline early-stage decision-making by helping estimators and company owners determine which project invitations are worth pursuing. Using artificial intelligence, BidIntell analyzes incoming bid requests and generates a “BidIndex” score on a 100-point scale, allowing users to quickly assess viability.

The scoring system is based on four key components: location fit, contract terms and keywords, general contractor relationship history and trade match. Users can adjust the weighting of each factor to align with their business priorities. A fifth component, competitive pressure, is automatically introduced once users log at least three bid outcomes with a specific general contractor.

AI Targets Early-Stage Bid Decisions

The platform also identifies potential risks within contract documents, flagging 11 categories such as pay-when-paid clauses, liquidated damages and non-standard indemnification language. These insights are delivered in plain language within seconds of uploading bid documents—saving estimators from conducting full manual reviews at the outset.

Every decision made within the system is recorded as structured data, including whether a bid was won, lost, declined or received no response. Over time, this builds a proprietary dataset for each user, offering insight into win rates, contractor relationships and which project types yield the best results.

The company says this historical intelligence helps firms better allocate estimating resources and avoid pursuing low-probability opportunities.

Turning Estimator Instinct Into Data

BidIntell was founded by Ryan Elder, who brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial construction, including leading a specialty subcontracting division that grew to approximately $8 million in annual revenue.

“Every estimator I know has a gut feel for which bids are worth chasing,” said Elder. “The problem is that gut feel doesn't scale, doesn't transfer to new hires, and doesn't build a record you can learn from. BidIntell turns that instinct into a scored, logged, repeatable process — and over time, the data a user collects about their own win rate with each GC becomes the most valuable asset in the business.”

The platform focuses on what the company calls the “pre-bid decision layer,” differentiating itself from existing tools that emphasize later stages such as proposal development or document management. It is designed to work across multiple plan room systems, including PlanHub, BuildingConnected, ConstructConnect and Dodge, making it adaptable for firms using different bidding ecosystems.

BidIntell is priced to remain accessible to small and mid-sized contractors, with subscriptions starting at $49 per month for a single user. Team and enterprise pricing tiers are also available, and founding members are offered a 30% lifetime discount.

Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, the company plans to expand its platform with features such as automated general contractor follow-ups, deeper win/loss analytics and integrations with existing takeoff and estimating tools.
