BALTIMORE — Constellation (Nasdaq: CEG) today announced a $150,000 donation to support Trades Futures, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding pathways into union construction apprenticeships and careers through Apprenticeship Readiness Programs (ARPs).

Established in 2023 by North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) and industry partners, Trades Futures maintains apprenticeship readiness standards through its Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3). The organization represents the largest pre-apprenticeship network in any domestic industry, supporting more than 270 ARPs across 34 states.

Constellation employs several thousand union construction members annually and contracts with numerous suppliers that employ thousands more union workers on its projects nationwide.

Investment in Workforce Development Amid Rising Energy Demand

Trades Futures works to expand awareness of construction trade careers and prepare participants to apply for — and succeed in — registered apprenticeship programs. The donation comes at a time when electricity demand is rising, driven by data center expansion, domestic manufacturing growth and electrification initiatives.

“Constellation is leading the charge to power America’s growth as energy demand surges, and we will need a larger trades workforce to support nuclear uprates and outages and new construction in the nation’s burgeoning data economy and manufacturing sectors,” said Bryan Hanson, senior executive vice president and chief generation officer of Constellation. “With support from Trades Futures, NABTU and other workforce alliances, Constellation is stepping up to deliver the reliable, clean energy that keeps our communities strong, our businesses competitive and our nation secure.”

The company’s donation reflects the substantial role organized trades workers play in its operations. In 2025 alone, contracted building trades workers logged approximately 3 million hours on Constellation projects.

Constellation has committed to making the donation over multiple years, with the expectation that contributions could scale alongside company growth — reinforcing long-term support for the skilled trades pipeline.

Expanding Access to Union Careers Nationwide

Trades Futures leaders say the funding will help broaden access to career pathways, particularly in underserved communities.

Sean McGarvey, Trades Futures Board Chair and President of NABTU, representing more than 3 million skilled craft professionals across 14 national and international unions stated:

“Constellation’s leadership and generous support demonstrate a real commitment to expanding access to building trades career pathways and strengthening the workforce that keeps our country running. Together with Constellation, NABTU, and our industry alliances, we’re expanding opportunity, growing the skilled workforce, and ensuring America has the talent needed for the clean energy economy.”

Marina Zhavoronkova, Trades Futures executive director, added: “The nature of this anticipated initiative is the first of its kind for TradesFutures, reflecting industry demand for the skilled trades. We are grateful to Constellation for leading the way in establishing this innovative new program.”

In 2025, Trades Futures served more than 7,700 individuals — tripling participation over the past five years. Many graduates have moved into careers supporting the clean energy sector, including nuclear, renewable and infrastructure projects.

Supporting the Clean Energy and Infrastructure Buildout

With Constellation operating 55 gigawatts of generating capacity — making it the largest private-sector power producer in the world and the largest producer of clean energy in the United States — the company’s workforce needs continue to expand. Its portfolio includes nuclear, natural gas, geothermal, hydro, wind and solar facilities capable of powering the equivalent of 27 million homes.

As energy demand grows and large-scale projects increase, workforce readiness has become a central component of infrastructure planning. By supporting Trades Futures’ apprenticeship readiness network, Constellation is investing not only in immediate labor needs but also in the long-term sustainability of America’s union construction workforce.

The partnership underscores a broader alignment between clean energy expansion and skilled trades development — positioning apprenticeship readiness as a key pillar of the nation’s evolving energy economy.
