The Langhorne, Pennsylvania-based manufacturer announced the launch of the eSpire Nano, a scalable and high-performance battery storage system designed specifically for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. The system is engineered to deliver commercial-grade capabilities while maintaining the simplicity typically associated with residential installations.

According to the company, the eSpire Nano is suited for a variety of environments, including retail stores, quick-service restaurants, small industrial facilities, offices and schools. The system supports flexible configurations across multiple voltage ranges — 208V, 220V, 240V and 480V — and offers both AC and DC coupling options to meet diverse project requirements.

Designed for Simplicity and Scalability

The eSpire Nano integrates inverter options delivering 30 kW or 60 kW of AC output, paired with battery cabinets rated at 40 kWh or 60 kWh. This modular configuration allows contractors and developers to tailor systems based on site-specific energy demands.

A key focus of the product is reducing barriers to entry for commercial energy storage. The system’s compact footprint and simplified architecture are intended to shorten installation timelines and lower project costs, particularly for contractors transitioning from residential solar into the commercial sector.

Commissioning is handled through an app-based workflow, streamlining setup and enabling installers to deploy systems more efficiently. The modular design also allows for future expansion, supporting distributed energy applications as demand grows.

To accommodate varying project complexities, the eSpire Nano is available in two configurations. The Standard package is designed for straightforward installations with guided commissioning, while the Pro package adds advanced capabilities such as system modeling, financial analysis, utility rate optimization and participation in virtual power plant programs.

Supporting Energy Resilience and Market Growth

Fortress Power said the eSpire Nano builds on its existing portfolio of commercial energy solutions and reflects broader market trends toward decentralized energy systems and grid independence.

“The eSpire Nano represents a major step forward in making commercial energy storage more accessible,” said Jing Yu, CEO of Fortress Power. “We’ve combined the performance and intelligence required for commercial applications with the speed and simplicity installers expect from residential systems. This creates new opportunities for installers to grow their business and for more businesses to take control of their energy future.”

The system includes integration with Keystone EMS for energy optimization and is supported by Fortress Power’s technical service team from design through commissioning. The company said this “white-glove” support model is intended to help ensure successful project deployment and long-term performance.

From a compliance standpoint, the eSpire Nano inverter is already approved for inclusion on the California Energy Commission Solar Equipment List, with additional certifications and listings expected for the battery and full system configuration. The product also carries multiple UL certifications, aligning with industry safety and performance standards.

As commercial building owners and contractors increasingly prioritize energy efficiency, resilience and cost savings, solutions like the eSpire Nano are expected to play a growing role in project planning and execution.
