VILLA RICA, Ga. — At Harrison Contracting Company (HCC), safety remains a core aspect of the company’s culture. This commitment is on display this week as HCC hosts its Annual Safety Day 2025 on January 31. The event aims to inform, engage, and motivate employees, subcontractors, and leadership through practical training sessions, expert presentations, and cutting-edge safety practices. With more than 400 participants anticipated, including team members, vendor partners, industry experts, and first responders from the Villa Rica Fire and Police Departments, this year’s gathering is set to be one of the largest and most impactful to date.

A Longstanding Commitment to Safety
HCC’s Safety Day has been a key part of the company’s culture for over 20 years, uniting employees across all levels to emphasize best practices, risk awareness, and the latest safety technologies. The event spans all of HCC’s divisions—including those in Georgia, Texas, and Florida—bringing together both office and field staff to reinforce safety as a fundamental component of the company’s operations.
“As we celebrate 30 years of business, we reflect on the dedication and diligence that have built our success and shaped our identity,” said Calvin Pate, CEO & Owner. “This year’s Safety Day brings together more than 400 employees and subcontractors to strengthen our commitment to safety and foster the connection and care that unites our team. It’s a valuable opportunity to refresh our knowledge of the safety practices that protect and support us all.”

HCC’s continued investment in safety awareness and skills underscores its role as not just a painting contractor, but a trusted industry partner.
Marking 30 Years of Excellence
This year’s Safety Day holds special significance as it aligns with Harrison Contracting Company’s 30th anniversary. Established on February 16, 1995, by Bill Harrison and his father, Deryl Harrison, HCC has cultivated a robust reputation built on Image, Diligence, Responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Bill Harrison, who took on the role of president in 2000, worked closely with Calvin Pate to grow the company’s reach, with Chris Murphy joining in 2008 to oversee multi-site repaint initiatives for leading retail brands. In 2022, ownership transitioned to Calvin Pate and Chris Murphy, who are dedicated to continuing HCC’s legacy of quality service.
“This milestone is a testament to the dedication and passion of our incredible team—both past and present—whose hard work has built more than just projects,” said Chris Murphy, COO & Owner. “They’ve built lasting relationships and a reputation rooted in our core values: Image, Diligence, Responsibility, and being Uncompromising in everything we do. We’re deeply grateful to our clients and partners for their trust and loyalty, which have been the foundation of our success over the past 30 years. Together, we honor the contributions of everyone who has been part of this journey and look forward to continuing this legacy for decades to come.”
