Houzz Inc. has introduced a major update to its professional software suite, Houzz Pro, unveiling new AI-powered tools designed to simplify product sourcing and procurement for construction and design professionals.

The announcement, made from West Hollywood, highlights a growing shift toward mobile-first, AI-driven workflows in the residential construction and design sector.
At the center of the update is the newly enhanced mobile Clipper, now fully integrated into the Houzz Pro app. The tool allows users to capture product details, pricing and images directly from any mobile browser, eliminating the need for third-party extensions or manual data entry.
“The future of sourcing is mobile, AI-powered and completely seamless, and now we’ve brought this to the Houzz Pro app” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and CEO. “With the mobile Clipper, it’s easier for pros to capture products from anywhere and easily move from inspiration to execution. Combined with new selection board templates and placeholders, Houzz Pro provides a more complete solution for managing sourcing, selections and project budgets in one place.”
New Features Enhance Workflow Efficiency
Alongside the Clipper, Houzz has rolled out a suite of Selections tools aimed at improving organization and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
One key addition is the ability to clip directly from a URL, allowing professionals to import product details instantly by pasting links into selection boards. This significantly reduces time spent gathering product specifications from multiple sources.
Another feature, Selection Board Placeholders, enables teams to plan ahead by adding provisional items before final decisions are made. This helps track quantities, budgets and design intent early in the process, while seamlessly updating once final selections are confirmed.
Additionally, Selection Board Templates provide a standardized, repeatable framework for projects. These templates act as a roadmap for teams, ensuring consistency and minimizing the risk of missing critical components during procurement.
Industry Perspective and User Feedback
Industry professionals are already highlighting the practical impact of these tools on daily workflows.
“The Houzz Pro Clipper is a lifesaver. It gathers all of the information for you while you’re on the go,” said Jonathan Gordon, founder of Design by the Jonathans. “It’s fast and easy to use. When you clip a product to your library, all the images, descriptions, and pricing are ready to pull into a proposal.”
Supporting the Full Project Lifecycle
The new tools build on Houzz Pro’s broader ecosystem, which supports everything from client collaboration to financial management. Features such as estimates, invoicing, takeoffs, 3D floor plans, mood boards and online payments are already integrated into the platform.
Currently, the mobile Clipper is available on iOS devices, with Android compatibility expected in the near future. The tools are accessible to users subscribed to Houzz Pro’s “Custom” package.
Additional Context & Industry Impact
The launch reflects a wider trend across the construction technology sector, where companies are increasingly embedding AI into everyday workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy and decision-making.
By reducing friction in sourcing and procurement, Houzz aims to help professionals save time, reduce errors and maintain better control over project budgets. This is particularly significant as residential construction projects grow more complex and client expectations for transparency and speed continue to rise.
With more than 3 million professionals and over 70 million homeowners using the platform globally, Houzz is positioning itself as a central hub for both inspiration and execution—bridging the gap between design vision and project delivery.
